The TX1 frequency transmitter with a power of 1 Watt meets the needs of building and sanitation professionals wishing to locate and trace pipes or domestic networks over short distances.

Attention to detect the pipe/network, you must be equipped with a network locator.

A portable frequency transmitter for easy transport

Light at only 1.7 kg (1.5 kg for the Li-ion battery version) and compact, the TX1 frequency transmitter is easily transported and takes up little space.

The generator has an output power of 1 Watt on the following frequencies:

  • Direct connection frequencies — 33 kHz, 131 kHz (simultaneous transmission)
  • Induction clamp frequencies — 33 kHz, 131 kHz
  • Induction frequency — 33 kHz

The housing is made of injection molded ABS. It is shock resistant and has rubber edge protections.

Important: to detect the pipe or network, you must be equipped with a locator such as the Vscan® or the vLoc 3 Cam, as well as a detectable needle if necessary.

Generator characteristics

  • Output power 1 Watt — high/low power selection, pulsed or continuous signal
  • Push buttons for controls / LED
  • Sound change to indicate good signal
  • Power supply: alkaline batteries (4 × D) or Lithium-Ion & charger (100 V to 240 V AC optional)
  • Low battery alert

The “dragon” connection kit is composed of:

  • Dragon (reel — cable tensioner)
  • Connection cables
  • Earth stake

Why use a frequency transmitter?

To locate pipes and trace networks with the help of a locator and a detectable needle. It is also possible to induce the signal on a conductive pipe (e.g. cast iron) with the clamps provided to carry out network avoidance or tracing.

Is it possible to trace a HDPE pipe?

As locators only detect emitting networks (electrical or telephone cable for example), it is important to supply your water pipe with an electrical signal.

How to do it?

Introduce a detectable needle into your pipe if your pipe is not conductive (HDPE, etc.). Plug in your TX1 frequency transmitter: it will send the signal into the needle. Then follow the signal on the surface using the locator.

The pipeline is not accessible — how to induce the network?

If your network is conductive and you do not have access, use the TX1 transmitter with grounding. The electrical signal will go to the conductive supports and your locator will detect the pipe. All that remains is to follow the signal to trace your network.
